Description
Perfectly grilled beef patties with a 20% fat content, topped with melting cheddar, crisp lettuce, and classic condiments on toasted brioche buns. The ideal balance of juicy meat, tangy flavors, and a buttery, crispy foundation.
Ingredients
700g (1½ lbs) Ground beef (80% lean / 20% fat)
1 tsp Salt (fine)
½ tsp Freshly ground black pepper
4 Burger buns (Brioche or Potato Roll)
4 slices Cheddar cheese (strong or American)
4 lettuce leaves (Iceberg or Boston)
2 plum tomatoes (sliced thickly)
1 tbsp Unsalted butter (for buns)
4 small pickle slices
4 tsp Yellow mustard
Instructions
Preheat a heavy skillet or griddle over medium-high heat
In a bowl, combine beef with salt and pepper; mix gently
Divide the mixture into 4 equal patties, making them slightly wider than buns
Place patties on the skillet, cook 4-5 minutes per side until medium doneness is reached
During the last minute of cooking, place a cheddar slice on each patty to melt
Toast buns on one side using butter until golden brown
Assemble with pickles, mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, and melted cheese between toasted bun halves
Notes
Forming patties wider compensates for meat shrinkage (ratio of 175g beef per patty)
High-fat beef ensures juiciness without drying
Buttered toast must be done carefully for crisp texture
