Description
A rich, umami-packed spaghetti sauce using ground beef, tomato concentrate, and balanced acidity, free of pork and alcohol. Velvety texture adheres perfectly to pasta with herbaceous basil finishing notes.
Ingredients
450g ground beef (15% fat)
1 medium onion (finely chopped)
425g canned tomato sauce
240g tomato paste
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce (alcohol-free)
1 teaspoon dried herbs (oregano/thyme)
Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)
Instructions
Heat oven to 350°F (175°C)
Sauté onions in beef fat until translucent
Add ground beef, brown thoroughly
Add tomato paste and sauté 5 minutes
Stir in canned tomato sauce
Add sugar, Worcestershire, and dried herbs
Simmer 25 minutes, stirring occasionally
Remove from heat and stir in fresh basil
Finish with pasta of choice
Notes
Use halal-certified beef if preferred
Simmer sauce uncovered for thicker consistency
Store leftovers in airtight containers for up to 3 days
