Description
Transform tough beef ribs into melt-in-your-mouth tender meat using a sweet-spiced rub and slow cooking magic. Perfect for busy home cooks seeking restaurant-quality results.
Ingredients
3 1/2 lbs beef ribs (bone-in)
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 teaspoons chili powder
2 teaspoons smoked paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon dried thyme
Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
Pat beef ribs dry with paper towels
Mix brown sugar, chili powder, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, salt, and pepper to create the rub
Generously coat both sides of the ribs with the spice mixture
Place ribs fat side up in a slow cooker
Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours until tender
Let rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing
Notes
Use bone-in beef short ribs for best flavor
For extra moisture, add 1/2 cup beef broth to the bottom of the slow cooker
Adjust chili powder quantity for spiciness
Boneless short ribs can be used but have less intense flavor
